Position:
Nature Camp Councilors
Description:
Gain confidence and experience working with children in an
outdoor setting. Volunteers will support camp staff during
summer nature camps. The volunteers will gain experience in
naturalist skills, group management techniques, and
interpersonal skills. This opportunity is perfect for
individuals interested in natural history, teaching or
volunteering for a non-profit.
Skills:
Applicants should be enthusiastic, enjoy working with children,
and interested in the natural history.
Location:
Cranbury, NJ
Start Date: We require a commitment of at least one week
between the dates of June 23, 2008 and August 29, 2008.
Assignment is based on skill, interest, and availability.
Hours:
Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Organization: The New Jersey Audubon Society (NJAS) is a
privately supported, not-for profit, statewide membership
organization that was founded in 1897. NJAS fosters
environmental awareness and a conservation ethic among New
Jersey's citizens; protects New Jersey's birds, animals, and
plants, especially endangered and threatened species; and
promotes preservation of New Jersey's valuable natural habitats.
The NJAS Plainsboro Preserve is part of a network of nine
staffed centers and 34 nature preserves in New Jersey. With the
help of our Board of Directors, professional staff, members, and
volunteers, we foster environmental education, research, and
conservation.
