It was relatively quiet at CHC WMA this morning. Golden-crowned Kinglets are on the move, with several of them seen working in the pines along the path. A single female Purple Finch posed nicely atop a beautiful black gum tree, allowing scope views. Several sparrow species fed along the grass edges and an Eastern Towhee that had been calling frequently popped up for good views. Flocks of Blue Jays and American Robins moved overhead but warbler numbers were low, with a few Yellow-rumped Warblers and a single Western Palm Warbler.
