Join Captain Bob and the naturalists and crew of the Osprey to explore Cape May Harbor and the coastal wetlands. See nesting Osprey, migrating shorebirds, herons and egrets, raptors, waterfowl, and the elusive Clapper Rail. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. We will leave our artwork at the sanctuary for others to enjoy so don’t forget to take a picture before you leave. Turkey Talk

Wild turkeys are interesting birds. Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird. After a short program, we will make turkey sounds with a caller, look at turkey feathers and structures. Weather permitting, we will take a walk to look for turkey food. Children will create a pine-cone turkey for the holiday table. $6 per member child; $10 per non-member child Contact 908-396-6386

Hawks, Trails and Beach

Meets near the Hawkwatch Platform at the Cape May Point State Park. The afternoon hawk flight is often strong, with lower birds punctuated by late day movements of falcons. Seabirds and shorebirds often pass to rest on the beach and passerines remain to be found on the trails. Family-friendly. No preregistration necessary.
