These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Island Beach State Park

Island Beach is a great spot for watching the migration of loons, gannets, and sea ducks. It's also good for less common birds like pelicans and jaegers. ADULTS ONLY can have fun discovering the joys of nature with some of our best camp programs. Many of our animals go into hiding when people are around, but they leave behind clues about what they eat, where they sleep, and who is hunting who during the night. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP III – Photo Boot Camp

Workshop 3 will be a photo boot camp. In Workshop 3 the participants will apply what they learned in Workshops I and II. This will be a hands-on session with cameras, with participants practicing changing camera settings, compensation for varying light conditions. We will practice composition using flower set ups, considering the effect of light quality and direction, distance to subject, focal length, and f/stop. Time permitting, we will project and critique participants’ session images. The Fall migration of seabirds along the South Jersey coast is fascinating, inspiring, and sometimes overwhelming, as hundreds of thousands head south to wimtering grounds. Join us for an afternoon of scoters, gannets, loons, grebes, cormorants, jeagers, and more - a chance to learn about and appreciate these amazing movements. We'll concentrate our efforts around Stone Harbor and Avalon - taking it all in. Please plan to carpool and to walk some distances on sand. Preregistration required.
