Meets at the Parking area at the west end of Shawmount Ave. (off Route 603/Bayshore Road, south of Route 654/Fulling Mill Road, 0.2 miles south of the Lower Township municipal buildings and library). Explore this former golf course, now a state wildlife management area, on easy-walking asphalt trails. Good for woodpeckers, Pine Warblers, grosbeaks, sparrows, and other migrants. Allendale Celery Farm

We will be on the lookout for early Warblers such as Pine, Palm, and Yellow-rumped, along with migrating waterfowl and raptors, and will search for the the elusive American Bittern--as we take a leisurely stroll around the trails and marshes of this "urban oasis". $15 members/$20 non-members Leaders: Rob and Lisa Fanning The main access to the Celery Farm is from a small parking lot on the east side of Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, New Jersey. From Route 17 north or southbound, take the Allendale Ave. exit, heading west towards Allendale. After 0.8 miles, turn right Cottage Place. At the end of Cottage Place, turn right at the stop sign onto Franklin Turnpike. The parking lot is about one hundred yards on the right.

For bird photographer Scott Gilbert, the magic happens on those special occasions when he is able to reflect the subject's distinctive character in a way that meaningfully resonates with the viewer. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Sundays open from 12 to 4 Mondays closed

Bald Eagle Cruise on the Maurice River

Join Captain Bob and the crew of The Osprey and CMBO Naturalists. The Maurice River is a well-known wintering and nesting area for Bald Eagles. Particiapnts will search for eagles and other raptors, wintering waterfowl, welcome the return of nesting Ospreys, and enjoy the natural beauty of this part of the river, largely inaccessible by land. Departs from the public landing at the City of Millville Municipal Marina on Ware Avenue at the Route 49 intersection (adjacent to Millville municipal complex/city hall). Ample free parking. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible.
