Meets at the Belleplain State Forest Office on Henkensifkin Road, just off Route 550. Varied habitats yield an amazing diversity of spring migrants and breeders. Highlights include many target species, such as Acadian Flycatcher, Yellow-throated Warbler, and Louisiana Waterthrush.  No preregistration required. Led by Dave Hall, Associate Naturalist We will tour Greenwood Gardens in search of spring migrants. Explore several habitats including hardwood forest, conifer stands, ponds, and meadows. We will also venture into South Mountain Reservation through the "back Door" to see who is stopping over. Registration with Greenwood Gardens is required for this trip. These little-known Middlesex County hotspots provide green oases for migratory species. For bird photographer Scott Gilbert, the magic happens on those special occasions when he is able to reflect the subject's distinctive character in a way that meaningfully resonates with the viewer. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Sundays open from 12 to 4 Mondays closed

Meets at the clamshell parking area at the end of Matt's Landing Road near Heislerville, next to the impoundment and across from the marina. Heislerville WMA has become a spring legend, attracting up to four Curlew Sandpipers in recent springs, plus zillions of other shorebirds. Depending on tide conditions, we may visit nearby East Point or Thompson’s Beach. Bring a scope if you have one. No preregistration required. Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers.
