Meets at the Belleplain State Forest Office on Henkensifkin Road, just off Route 550. Many southern birds, including Summer Tanager, Hooded Warbler, Acadian Flycatcher, and Yellow-billed Cuckoo, are near the northern limit of their breeding range in Belleplain. Crystal Springs, Teetertown Preserve

Led by Alan Rennie, Associate Naturalist  Crystal Springs is a section of the Teetertown Preserve.  It is comprised of 233 acres of mature forest, active farmland, meadows, ponds, and the headwaters of the Spruce Run Creek in Hunterdon County.  Alan will be looking for lots of spring migrants and local breeding birds along flat paths about two miles long.  Crystal Springs is located in Lebanon Township on Pleasant Grove Road and off Califon Road in Washington Township, Morris County. We will meet in the parking lot at 8:00 AM. Please wear weather appropriate footwear.  Call 908-396-6386 to register by May 3.  Location:  Pleasant Grove Road, Port Murray, NJ.  To reach Crystal Springs from the Clinton area drive north (from Clinton) on Route 31 for 1.7 miles to Route 513 north.  Turn right and follow Route 513 through High Bridge toward Califon for about 6.5 miles.  Just past AQUI grocery store, turn left onto Sliker Road and proceed about 1.8 miles to Pleasant Grove Road.  Turn right onto Pleasant Grove Road and continue into Washington Township, Morris County.  Make the first left in Morris County (look for a small green sign on the left that reads "51-55"R) and proceed to the end of the road.  This is the park entrance.  A grass parking space is on the right about 500 feet down the driveway.  Cost: $15 members, $20 nonmembers.

One of the premier sites in northern NJ for songbird migrants, Garret is a migrant trap where a great variety of swallows, flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, warblers, and sparrows are the norm. Both leaders know Garret extremely well, and are sure to bring to bear their talents to bear, teasing out as many birds as possible at this hotspot. Free; registration strongly recommended. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Led by Kristin Mylecraine. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class.  No experience necessary; all levels welcome.  For ages 15 years and older. Please arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat if you have one (some will be provided.)  This class will be held weekly from 4/13/19 to 6/15/19.  There will be no class 4/20/2019 and 5/25/2019.  To register for the full 8-week session, registration is required prior to the first class.   You may register for a single class. Walk-ins are welcome. Cost for all 8 classes: $88 members, $112 nonmembers. Cost per class: $12 members, $15 nonmembers.

Join Captain Bob and the naturalists and crew of The Osprey for close-up looks at secretive rails, nesting Ospreys, migrant shorebirds, terns, gulls, herons and more. We explore the coastal saltmarsh of Cape May from Cape Island Creek to the Wildwoods and view the natural wonders of historic Cape May Harbor. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. We will be selling high-quality garden plants that are specially chosen to attract birds, butterflies and hummingbirds to your backyard. Some perennial favorites include monarda, milkweed, phlox, aster, honeysuckle, and native trees and shrubs. And remember- plants make great gifts for Mother’s Day! We’ll make fairy-sized gardens filled with fairy decorations and accessories you make with natural materials. We'll show you how to make houses, tables, chairs, swings, and more! You can make a flower fairy, too! We’ll have more ideas and examples to get you started, and then let your imagination do the rest. All materials supplied: basket, soil, plants, fairy materials, and oodles of natural materials. Bring a glue gun if you have one. Limited to 18. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT REQUIRED BY APRIL 30. $25 per basket for members; $30 per basket for nonmembers.
