Meets in the parking area at the base of the Maurice River Bridge on Route 670, just a few miles from the western junction of Routes 47 and 347. Visit little-known hotspots in eastern Cumberland County and search for migrant and breeding birds, while also enjoying wildflowers, amphibians and more. No preregistration required. Each species and individual displays a unique personality. Think of the relentless determination of the shorebirds, the soaring independence of the raptors, or the colorful charm of the warblers. For bird photographer Scott Gilbert, the magic happens on those special occasions when he is able to reflect the subject's distinctive character in a way that meaningfully resonates with the viewer. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Sundays open from 12 to 4 Mondays closed

Meets at the north end of Nummy Island, just south of the free bridge on Ocean Drive after leaving Stone Harbor. This rich salt marsh is one of the best spots to observe breeding Clapper Rails, herons and egrets, American Oystercatchers, Ospreys, Black Skimmers, terns and Seaside Sparrows.
