With David LaPuma and CMBO naturalists. Meets at the parking lot at the west end of New England Road. Additional parking available along New England Road. Blue Grosbeaks, Brown Thrashers, Yellow-breasted Chats, Yellow Warblers and White-eyed Vireos all arrive in April to breed here. Many spring warblers and other songbirds migrate through. Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff and/or associate naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is heavy snow, rain, or weather warnings. FREE

Each species and individual displays a unique personality. Think of the relentless determination of the shorebirds, the soaring independence of the raptors, or the colorful charm of the warblers. For bird photographer Scott Gilbert, the magic happens on those special occasions when he is able to reflect the subject's distinctive character in a way that meaningfully resonates with the viewer. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Sundays open from 12 to 4 Mondays closed

A Meadows Afternoon

Meets at the Nature Conservancy's South Cape May Meadows Preserve parking lot on Sunset Blvd. Seasonally flooded ponds attract ducks and shorebirds, while beach nesters like Least Terns and American Oystercatchers will be back and busy.
