Visit some of the lesser-known parts of this marvelous State Forest for spring migrant birds, wildflowers and whatever crosses our path. No preregistration required. Cost: $9 members, $15 nonmembers. Meets near the Hawkwatch Platform at Cape May Point State Park. For beginning birders and anyone who wants to learn more about birds and how to find them. The park has a variety of habitats – woods, fields, ponds, dunes, and beach. Loaner binoculars are available. No preregistration required. Family-friendly. Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. Each species and individual displays a unique personality. Think of the relentless determination of the shorebirds, the soaring independence of the raptors, or the colorful charm of the warblers. For bird photographer Scott Gilbert, the magic happens on those special occasions when he is able to reflect the subject's distinctive character in a way that meaningfully resonates with the viewer. An exhibition of Scott’s characterful photographs opens at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, on March 1, 2019 and runs until May 27, 2019. Sundays open from 12 to 4 Mondays closed
