Let’s go on a fantastic fossil find, search for “Cape May Diamonds”, and learn how scientists discover the way things were by studying bones. Meets near the Hawkwatch Platform at the Cape May Point State Park. Not watching birds when in Cape May is like not visiting the Grand Canyon when in Arizona! Join us for a relaxed afternoon of birding whether you are a seasoned birder or have never really watched birds on purpose before. Loaner binoculars will be available and we’ll show you how to use them. No preregistration required. Family-friendly. Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. You don't want to miss this chance to see baby gulls, terns, and Ospreys - the miracle of nature! Amidst the largest Laughing Gull colony in the world and the beautiful back bay, we'll have spectacular, up-close and personal views of adorable chicks, as these little fur-balls peek their heads out from under their parents' wings. Feel free to bring a bottle of wine or a few brews - we'll provide a nice cheese and fruit tray. NEW LOCATION: Trips depart from the South Jersey Marina, 1231 Route 109, Cape May. Join us for an evening stroll on the beach to look for these “ghosts” of the night and other nocturnal creatures. Bring a flashlight, and meet at the beach access point at the end of Mount Vernon Ave. There is free parking along the streets after 6:00 p.m. Call 609.427.3045 for directions and registration. Pre-registration is required. Cost: $5 per person; children under 3 free.
