Additional parking is available along New England Road before the parking lot entrance.  Famous for migration, we'll search for warbler, vireos, sparrows, and so much more.  If the winds are right, we could be awash with migrants!  No preregistration required. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Art Reception: Byrne and Macomber – The Ever Changing Sea

Harbor Gallery Highlights the Ever-Changing Sea and Coastline with artists Mary Byrne and David Macomber The Harbor Gallery is pleased to announce their featured local artists for the month of September. Potter, Mary Byrne and painter, David Macomber will display their works with an opening reception to meet the artists on September 6th from 4-6pm. Both artists draw their inspiration from the beauty of nature found along the coastline. All artwork is for sale, with a portion of sales going to support the Nature Center of Cape May. The Harbor Gallery is located at Nature Center of Cape May at 1600 Delaware Ave, Cape May. Light refreshments will be served. Mary Byrne is a clay artist whose passion for grace and movement informs every piece she creates. Mary’s work celebrates the natural world by combining found pieces and innovative clay and glass composites. Her work ranges from beautifully thrown bowls, on the potter’s wheel, to very intricate handmade pieces. Mary’s work is inspired by her love of nature, especially the ever-changing sea and coastline. Mary received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College, majoring in art and photography. She continued her studies at The Sawtooth Center for the Visual Arts and The Canton Clayworks. Today, Mary exhibits her work at local galleries and studios. David Macomber was born at the peak of summer, by the beaches of New Jersey. Coming from a commercial fishing family, He understands first hand about life that revolves around the power of the sea. This knowledge and experience, naturally bleeds into his daily creative process. After being voted “Most Friendly” in his high school and failing art for not following directions – David has decided to devote the rest of his life to helping others and being untraditionally creative. His art has been featured on the DIY Network show "I Want That", is listed as the top 25 Surf Artists to follow on The Surfers View and The Press of Atlantic City 10 Places to see Great Art in South Jersey. In Cape May you can find David's art at his gallery and studio at 656 Washington Street, The Whales Tale, Splash, Big Wave Burritos, Aloha Smoothies and Shear Sunsations.
