Meets at the Parking area at the west end of Shawmount Ave. (off Route 603/Bayshore Road, south of Route 654/Fulling Mill Road, 0.2 miles south of the Lower Township municipal buildings and library). Explore this former golf course, now a state wildlife management area, on easy-walking asphalt trails. Good for woodpeckers, grosbeaks, sparrows, warblers and other migrants.  No preregistration required.  Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. Bird we may see include Philadelphia and Blue-headed Vireos, Swainson’s Thrush, and Veery.  Pine, Palm, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, Tennessee, and Chestnut-sided are among the warbler possibilities. Led by NJ Audubon Naturalist. We'll be looking for early fall migrants passing through Negri Nepote. We hope to see Blue Grosbeak and grassland specialties including Grasshopper Sparrow and Dickcissel before they migrate for the winter. NJA guided nature walks, for 14 years now, are funded by Franklin Township Open Space Committee. Please bring binoculars if you have them; we will have some loaner binoculars available. Free. Join Captain Bob and the naturalists and crew of The Osprey for close-up looks at secretive rails, nesting Ospreys, migrant shorebirds, terns, gulls, herons and more. We explore the coastal saltmarsh of Cape May from Cape Island Creek to the Wildwoods and view the natural wonders of historic Cape May Harbor. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. Join CMBO Monarch Monitoring Project naturalists to learn about the Monarch butterflies that migrate through Cape May. You'll learn how you can help with Monarch conservation.
