Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff and/or associate naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Led by Kristin Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Please arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat if you have one (some will be provided.) This class will be held weekly from 1/11/20 to 2/29/20. To register please call 908-396-6386. To register for the full 8-week session, registration is required prior to the first class. You may register for a single class. Walk-ins are welcome. Cost: Cost for all 8 classes: $88 members, $112 nonmembers. Cost per class: $12 members, $15 nonmembers.

Led by Scott Barnes and Linda Mack Saturday February 8 9:30 am to 1:30 pm A perennial favorite for its wintering Harlequin Ducks, Barnegat Inlet is also excellent for all three scoter species, Common Eiders, Purple Sandpipers and other “rockpipers,” as well as interesting gulls, Peregrine Falcon, and maybe some loafing Harbor Seals or a King Eider. Location: Meet in the main parking lot at Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, 208 Broadway, Barnegat Light, NJ 08006 Cost: Free; registration strongly recommended. Digital Photography Workshop VI – Bird and Wildlife Photography

Led by Phil Witt, Associate Naturalist. Workshop 6 will focus on techniques used to photograph wildlife, especially birds. In addition to reviewing equipment selection and use, the topics of time of day, weather, composition and light will be covered. Students will be introduced to critical variables to control in bird/wildlife photography, such as exposure and shutter speed. Phil will cover typical camera settings useful for bird/wildlife photography. To register please call 908-396-6386. Cost: $12 members, $25 non-members.
