These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Led by Scott Barnes Friday February 28 9:00 am to 12:00 pm The waters of upper Raritan Bay can be productive in winter for a good assortment of bay/diving ducks, plus loons, grebes, and gulls (sometimes including “white-winged gulls”). This three-hour trip will visit Old Bridge Waterfront Park and Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy. Location: Meet at the “Paul’s Beach” section of Old Bridge Waterfront Park. This is the parking lot just east of the Rt 35 drawbridge and the mouth of Cheesequake Creek. Using the maple trees found on the Lorrimer property, participants will move through all of the steps necessary for making homemade maple syrup.
