Meets in the parking area at the base of the Maurice River Bridge on Route 670, just a few miles from the western junction of Routes 47 and 347. Visit little-known hotspots in eastern Cumberland County and search for migrant and breeding birds, while also enjoying wildflowers, amphibians and more. No preregistration required. Led by Scott Barnes, Director – All Things Birds Search for thrushes, vireos and warblers in this urban oasis of Maples, Oaks and Sweet Gum.  We will also go to the Rahway River overlook to search for a variety of shorebirds.  Hawk Rise is noted for its Swainson’s Thrushes and warbler varieties. Meets at the north end of Nummy Island, just south of the free bridge on Ocean Drive after leaving Stone Harbor. This rich salt marsh is one of the best spots to observe breeding Clapper Rails, herons and egrets, American Oystercatchers, Ospreys, Black Skimmers, terns and Seaside Sparrows.
