New Jersey Audubon field trips and programs adhere to CDC guidelines; leaders have the right to ask a participant to leave the program if someone is not adhering to these guidelines for the health and safety of all.  Leaders and participants must wear face coverings throughout the program and maintain social distancing (at least 6’ of separation). Leaders may remove their face covering in order to be heard by the group while maintaining social distance. Please do not come to a program if you are sick or have a sick family member. People coming from other states should follow New Jersey’s Travel Advisories for COVID -19 before attending a New Jersey Audubon program including 14-day self-quarantine.  For a list of states go to  There will be no sharing of equipment including binoculars or spotting scopes.

Learning on the Fly: Virtual Workshop, Common Birds of the Northeast

With CMBO Director Brett Ewald. This informative virtual workshop will provide an overview of the diversity of common birds in the Northeast. Focusing on species within various bird families, such as waterfowl, shorebirds, and warblers to name a few, we will touch on identification, location, and seasonality. Mostly, we will share how to best enjoy and appreciate the birds all around you. Geared for those new to the joys of birding and those looking to refresh their skills, you’re sure to learn a lot!.
