Expect herons, terns, migrant shorebirds, and ducks later in the season.  COST: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to our Covid-19 guidelines (see below), there will be no sharing of equipment including binoculars or spotting scopes. Binoculars WILL NOT be available for loan from the leaders. Thank you for your understanding. Palmyra is on the Delaware River in an urban landscape can be a great migrant trap for songbirds. Led by Scott Barnes and Carole Hughes.  Palmyra Cove is a productive inland migrant trap. Our visit occurs at a great time of year for vireos, flycatchers, sparrows, and warblers. Be prepared for hours of walking on flat terrain. Pre-registration required. Animals are preparing for winter. And best of all, the leaves of the trees are just beginning to change. How many colorful leaves can you find? Join in the fun as we read a story and go explore nature looking for the most beautiful colorful leaves from the trees at the Plainsboro Preserve. Participants will also enjoy a take home craft. Children's Program using nature concepts with a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts & crafts! Geared towards kids ages 3 - 5. The Lorrimer Sanctuary invites families, friends, and nature lovers to join us for an exploration of our natural world. Enjoy watching your budding naturalist ‘go wild’ experiencing woodland adventures. Children use all their senses to safely explore and discover the wonders of nature here at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Children are introduced to nature concepts using a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts and crafts. It is educational and fun! Learn about the full moon and the birds that show up during this hybrid nature/birding program. Join us for this evening walk as we turn our heads to the moon and watch the sky. Prepare to learn about how the full moon may affect our local wildlife while we keep an eye an ear open for some of fall’s migrating birds. Led by birder/naturalists Kirsten Holt and Lindsay McNamara. We will walk up to 1 mile, over generally level terrain. Full Moon Walk

As the sun sets and the moon rises we find a whole new world to explore. Join Miss Anne for this walk after dark at the Plainsboro Preserve. Many nocturnal animals reside at the Plainsboro Preserve. Unfortunately for the people, the gates are closed at night. Only for special events can pre-registered participants stay after dark. Under the light of the moon we will enjoy a walk along the trails to see what animals come out at night. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED Important Information: Don't forget your Flashlight for this walk. Insect repellent is recommended. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required for all programs.
