New Jersey Audubon field trips and programs adhere to CDC guidelines; leaders have the right to ask a participant to leave the program if someone is not adhering to these guidelines for the health and safety of all. Ready to start tapping trees in your yard? This two-part course will guide you through the process so you can make your own maple syrup! Every year at Lorrimer Sanctuary we tap trees to make homemade maple syrup. With the proper tools and a large enough maple tree, you can tap trees at home too! In this two-part program, we will go over everything you need to know about tapping maple trees and processing maple syrup. Participants will leave each program with the exact knowledge and practice to duplicate the process at home. Materials are not included, but a list will be provided before the first program to set you up for success! January 27th 4:30pm-5:30pm- Part 1: Maple Tree Basics and Tapping the Tree February 24th 4:30pm-5:30pm- Part 2: Sap Collection, Boiling and Tasting Bundle up! This class is entirely outdoors. This program is entirely outdoors. CANCELLATION: : NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
