Plainsboro Preserve 80 Scott's Corner Rd, East WindsorDo your kids love to explore? Register today to have your kids join NJ Audubon for some serious outdoor fun as we explore the Plainsboro Preserve. Days will vary from a visit to Devil's Brook in search of macro-invertebrates to a visit in the field as we check the milkweed for monarch caterpillars. Some days may be focused on survival skills as participants build their own shelters to see if they have what it takes to survive on their own. Bird Walk for all People
Cape May Point State Park Hawkwatch Platform NJJoin CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour walk around the Cape May Point State Park and beyond! Not watching birds when in Cape May is like not visiting the Grand Canyon when in Arizona! Join us for a relaxed morning of birding whether you are a seasoned birder or have never really watched birds on purpose before PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. Be sure to check the forecast in advance and dress in layers appropriate for prevailing weather conditions. The weather in Cape May can differ considerably from nearby inland areas and may be warmer, colder, or windier so it’s best to be over prepared. We may have to bird in the rain, so please bring your rain gear. TRANSPORTATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. NEW JERSEY AUDUBON'S PROGRAM GUIDELINES: All NJ counties are considered medium to low COVID-19 community levels. New Jersey Audubon highly recommends that anyone who is not fully vaccinated, wants additional protection, or comes from a higher community level area should consider wearing a mask and social distancing, especially indoors. Please do not come to a program if you are sick, have a sick family member or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s CMBO programs are virtually never cancelled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape MayHelp pull a seine net through the Cape May Harbor to see first-hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants during this time. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program. Miss Chris Marina - The Osprey 1212 Wilson Dr, Cape May, NJ 08204, NJJoin Capt. Bob and CMBO naturalists aboard The Osprey for a wonderful exploration of Cape May’s back bays and salt marsh islands. The very best Cape May sunsets await as you cruise by nesting Osprey and seek out elusive Clapper Rails - all with the most spectacular of natural backdrops! The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible.
