NJ Audubon has leased the birding privileges on this working farm where the field edges regularly attract warblers, sparrows, and other fall migrants. It's also a great place to see migrant raptors overhead.  Meets in the The Beanery parking lot on Bayshore Rd.  No preregistration required.  Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers. Wildcat Ridge

Led by Dave Oster, Associate Naturalist Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area, located off Green Pond Road in northern Morris County, preserves almost 6000 acres of forest and wooded ridgeline.  The area is surprisingly rugged and supports populations of bear, beaver, porcupine, and bobcat.  We will begin with a walk to the beaver pond to look for Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers, Towhee, Swainson's Thrush.  Then we'll hike approximately 20 minutes to the ridge and should see Ravens soaring with the raptors.  The trail is well maintained and there is an excellent chance of encountering pileated woodpecker along the way.  Time permitting we'll check out nearby beautiful Splitrock Reservoir.  Cost: $10 members, $15 nonmembers. Meets at the Avalon Seawatch location on the Beach between 8th and 9th St., at the north end of Avalon. Join CMBO interpretive naturalists for this outdoor workshop to witness the migration of scoters and other sea ducks, loons, cormorants and gannets. Bring binoculars, scope and tripod, if available. Hawks, Trails and Beach

An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until November 9, 2019

Meets near the Hawkwatch Platform at the Cape May Point State Park. The afternoon hawk flight is often strong, with lower birds punctuated by late day movements of falcons. Seabirds and shorebirds often pass to rest on the beach and passerines remain to be found on the trails.  No preregistration required. Family-friendly. Cost: $6 members, $10 nonmembers.
