Half Day Fridays at Sandy Hook
Sandy Hook - Lot B Hartshorne Drive, Sandy HookFall birding at the hook: we may encounter anything from shorebirds and terns to flycatchers, sparrows, and warblers. Fall birding at the hook: we may encounter anything from shorebirds and terns to flycatchers, sparrows, and warblers. A wide variety of habitats ensure good bird diversity at one of the state’s best spots. Be prepared for 3-4 hours of walking over flat and sandy surfaces. Meet at Parking Lot B, about halfway down the lot by the bathrooms. NJ Audubon Hawk Watches at Scherman Hoffman Observation Deck
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, BernardsvilleJoin our Naturalist on the observation deck for a bird’s eye view of fall migration. Marvel at the spectacular view of raptors and other birds as they fly over the sanctuary. Hawk Watches are scheduled for Friday 11/4 and 11/11 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Note: a hawk watch day will be cancelled if there is rain, snow, or weather warnings. Registration and fee are per date. You must pre-register for each date you wish to attend. Ticket sales ends at 4:00 PM on the day before each hawk watch. One person per ticket. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. REGISTER HERE
