Join Captain Bob and the crew of The Osprey for close-up looks at secretive rails, nesting Ospreys, migrant shorebirds, terns, gulls, herons and more. We explore the coastal saltmarsh of Cape May from Cape Island Creek to the Wildwoods and view the natural wonders of historic Cape May Harbor. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. Natural Habitats Trolley Tour
Beyond the charming Victorian homes and sandy beaches, Cape May is world famous for its birdwatching, monarch migration, and natural history. Join Cape May Bird Observatory naturalists on a trolley tour to local “natural habitats” (with exits at two spots), learning about the beauty, diversity, abundance (millions of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies pass through each year), geography, and extensive history of this amazing spectacle. What’s that Warbler?
Join The Warbler Guide author Scott Whittle and travel through Cape May hotspots in search of these little gems! Fall warblers can be tricky to identify. Males are no longer singing, and most species have lost their colorful breeding plumage. Luckily, Cape May hosts a diverse array of warblers migrating south during the fall, and September is the best time to see as many different species as possible. Scott Whittle will lead you through Cape May hotspots in search of these little gems while teaching you how to ID them with confidence. We will go over differences in shape, plumage, behavior, and even work on call notes. Because of the inherent dynamic nature of birding, we do not pre-set an exact itinerary but will visit those parts of Cape May County that regularly hold good numbers of birds during September. Join CMBO naturalists for this casual 2-hour walk around CMBO's Northwood Center and nearby Lily Lake! The wooded streets around Northwood are warbler magnets when migration is right, but there’s so much more to see. Join a casual walk with our associate Naturalists as they track down songbirds, swallows, waterfowl, raptors, and much more. The exact route will vary based on what’s happening that day! Join Cape May Bird Observatory naturalists on a trolley tour to local “natural habitats” (with exits at two spots), learning about the beauty, diversity, abundance (millions of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies pass through each year), geography, and extensive history of this amazing spectacle.
