Hundreds of thousands of children nationwide will take part in a grassroots movement to discover America’s parks through play on May 18, to commemorate National Park Trust’s 9th annual Kids to Parks Day!  Join Plainsboro Township's Environmental Education Coordinator Tara Miller and NJ Audubon's Lead Teacher Naturalist Anna Hill here in Plainsboro’s Plainsboro Preserve for a morning hike as Plainsboro celebrates National Kids to Parks Day! Citizen Scientists Unite!

How do we keep track of changes in bird populations locations of invasive plants, or blooming times of native trees and other flowering plants? Citizen Scientists! What is a Citizen Scientist? People like you, who learn to use apps to help keep track of our world. For example, each year, 15,000 people count birds at feeders for Project FeederWatch. With more than 1.5 million checklists submitted since 1987, FeederWatchers have contributed valuable data to scientists monitoring changes in bird populations. Associate Naturlaist Shari-Beth Nadell will introduce you to iNaturlaist, eBirds, and several more apps that help you to monitor the world. $6 Member, $8 Non-member Pre-registration is required by calling 609-427-3052 at least a day in advance.
