Forest Therapy
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin LakesJoin us for a Guided Forest Bathing Walk with Rebecca Stokes, certified Forest Therapy Guide! Forest therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing. It is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in nature. Forest therapy is a slow walk where people are guided through a sequence of invitations to slow down, be present with our senses, and experience the natural environment. Research studies have shown the practice of forest bathing has many benefits. The impact on our health is substantial: lowering blood pressure, boosting immune function, improving quality of sleep, and decreasing stress & anxiety. The practice of forest therapy creates a path to reconnect and deepen the relationship to nature, to others, to our communities, and to ourselves. The health of nature and the health of people are woven together. Rebecca is a certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy. She strives to live a life that honors the connection between nature and people. Rebecca has worked in human resources roles for over 15 years. COST: $20 What to wear: Comfortable clothing and covered sturdy shoes. Please dress accordingly for the weather. Important information: Guided walks for adults.
