Sandy Hook - Lot B Hartshorne Drive, Sandy HookLate fall birding at "the hook" focusing on waterfowl and seabirds, as well as raptors and field birds. Waterfowl should be around in good numbers, and we’ll hope for some seabird migration along the ocean where we could find numerous scoters, loons, gannets, and gulls. Mid-November can be a good time for oddities as well, and we’ll explore the hook’s thickets and woods for late-fall land birds. Trip is open to youth ages 11-17 who are interested in birds plus parents/guardian. Trip is free but pre-registration is required. Led by Scott Barnes and Carole Hughes. Location: Meet at Sandy Hook, parking lot B, about halfway down the lot by the bathrooms. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: FREE REGISTER HERE
