New Jersey Audubon field trips and programs adhere to CDC guidelines; leaders have the right to ask a participant to leave the program if someone is not adhering to these guidelines for the health and safety of all.  Leaders and participants must wear face coverings throughout the program and maintain social distancing (at least 6’ of separation). Leaders may remove their face covering in order to be heard by the group while maintaining social distance. Please do not come to a program if you are sick or have a sick family member. People coming from other states should follow New Jersey’s Travel Advisories for COVID -19 before attending a New Jersey Audubon program including 14-day self-quarantine.  For a list of states go to covid19.nj.gov.  There will be no sharing of equipment including binoculars or spotting scopes.

2020 Cape May Fall Festival Virtual Edition

The 2020 Cape May Fall Festival will be virtual and Cape May-centric! Warm up your ID skills with the experts on Friday, then join us as we capture Cape May's hotspots with the best guides around. You won't want to miss the Bird ID Quiz by a crackerjack team from the New Jersey Young Birders Club, the Keynote by Kenn Kaufman or the debut of Katy Duffy's Sunday presentation about the Cape May Owl Banding Project, "In the Still of the Night." Visit our sponsors and vendors, take your chances on our raffle, and find a treasure in our Silent Auction. Join us! Your registration includes a selection of live streaming from Cape May migration hotspots, interspersed with presentations on a wide variety of topics.  Our Roving Reporters will take you to Higbee Beach, The Nature Conservancy's South Cape May Meadows and even the iconic Cape May Hawkwatch.   Cost: A 3-day registration is $100 for CMBO or NJA members, and $125 for non-members.  Or you may choose a daily registration at $40/day for CMBO or NJA members, and $50/day for non-members. Presentations include workshops on hawk ID, fall warbler ID and pelagic birding, as well as live monarch butterfly tagging. Spotted Lanternflies are an invasive insect now found in NJ. Do you know how to find them? Do you know what to do if you find them? Spotted Lanternflies are a relatively new invasive species in NJ. This invasive insect will be a nuisance for homeowners and a serious problem for agriculture in the garden state. Join us as we check the woods at the Plainsboro Preserve to find this destructive pest. There is so much to learn about trying to control the spread of these insects. COST: $7 members, $10 nonmembers. Wear closed-toe sturdy shoes. Bring binoculars. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
