These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Registration required by 5:00 PM the day before the walk. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. One person per ticket. Face masks and social distancing required; please bring your own binoculars, loaner binoculars will not be available. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. Led by Dave Oster, Associate Naturalist. We'll explore wooded trails adjacent to a large wetland area known as Rattlesnake Meadow. We'll be looking for Pileated Woodpecker, warblers, kinglets, and raptors. Bald Eagle and Yellow-billed Cuckoo spotted in previous years. The Meadow often has Wood Duck and Great Blue Heron. Time permitting we'll walk the shorter trails around Rigby's Brook. Location: Please meet at Parking Area #3, McCaffrey Lane, Boonton, NJ. Please register early – group size is limited to 10 participants, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate.  Registration required by 5:00 PM 9/18. COST: $10 members, $15 nonmembers. Virtual Digital Photography Workshop: Digital Editing for Nature Photography

Led by Phil Witt and Jack Moskowitz, NJ Audubon Associate Naturalists. The workshop will cover the basic RAW conversion software and essential Photoshop tools, such as levels, curves, the crop tool, and the clone stamp. The workshop will address how to clean up an image, simplifying the image and removing distractions. Participants are encouraged to email one image (preferably RAW) for editing demonstrations; email provided with confirmation. Registration required by 5:00 PM 9/18. COST: $7 members, $12 nonmembers.
