Hilltop Reservation
Hilltop Reservation
Explore edge and meadow habitats for fall migrants with an easy walk through the reservation. Meet in the parking area next to the ball field. We will also explore the restored meadow habitat for Bluebirds as well as butterflies and other insects. Led by Dave Hall, Associate Naturalist Location: Mountain Avenue and Courter Lane, North Caldwell, NJ 07006. Meet in the parking area next to the ball field. Fall Birding at Hawk Rise Sanctuary
Explore the various habitats at Hawk Rise Sanctuary to look for spring migrants. Join NJ Audubon Program Director Scott Barnes and associate naturalists for a leisurely walk at the sanctuary. We’ll look for woodpeckers, thrushes and warblers in the woods and wetland birds like herons, egrets, and Ospreys along the Rahway River. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. Explore both field and forest while enjoying beautiful vistas of the Passaic River Valley. Explore both field and forest while enjoying beautiful vistas of the Passaic River Valley. This is the right time to discover fall migrants as they head south. Becker Farm dates back to 1880 when it was a farm. Over the years this farm added its famous railroad which entertained families for over 30 years. The now abandoned farm is a great place to spot grassland birds. Location: Meet at the south end of Locust Ave in Roseland, NJ. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $10 members, $15 nonmembers.
