The Backyard and Beyond Exhibit
NJ, United StatesRobert Mathewson is a full-time professional photographer. In recent years, wildlife photography and specifically bird photograph has become a passion of his. His photographic journey from Backyard to Beyond will be on display at the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery through April 30, 2023. Artist’s reception on Sunday February 5th, 2023 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. The Art Gallery is open Fridays 9:30 – 4:30, Saturdays 9:30 – 4:30 and Sundays 12 noon – 5pm. Birding Cape May Point
Cape May Point State Park Hawkwatch Platform NJ, United StatesJoin CMBO naturalists for 2 hours of birding around beautiful Cape May Point! Crossbills, siskins, redpolls – oh, my! Winter can be such a special time to bird Cape May Point. Each week we’ll scour the Park or wander the streets to see what avian visitors are calling Cape May Point their winter home. The winter finch prediction sounds promising, the ponds are full of ducks, and loons and scoters are on the move. Our path may take us through the quiet streets of Cape May Point, visiting local feeders. Or maybe we’ll travel along the dunes to check the morning flight line. Lily Lake and the Northwood Center often hold wintering songbirds and, of course, the State Park is always good. So let us add some joy to your winter – join us every Saturday for 2 hours of birding around Cape May Point. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga with NJ Audubon

Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration is required. Ticket sales end at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. NJ Young Birders Club-Barnegat Lighthouse State Park
Barnegat Lighthouse State Park Broadway, Barnegat Light, NJ, United StatesHarlequins & other sea ducks; p loons and gannets. We'll visit some nearby bayside spots after birding the inlet for additional species. Winter birding in the shadow of "Old Barney," looking for Harlequin Ducks, eiders, and scoters. We may also see loons and gannets. After birding the lighthouse/inlet area, we'll caravan to nearby bayside spots for more species. Meet in the main parking lot of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. Nature Explorers – Winter 2023
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ, United StatesLorrimer Sanctuary invites families, friends, and nature lovers to join us for an exploration of our natural world. Enjoy watching your budding naturalist ‘go wild’ experiencing woodland adventures. Children use all their senses to safely explore and discover the wonders of nature here at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Children are introduced to nature concepts using a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts and crafts. It is educational and fun! Best for families with children under 10. Residential landscapes are becoming increasingly important for the survival of native pollinators and other wildlife and can be home for both humans and wildlife. In this workshop we’ll show you how to create a wildlife garden, and a simple way to start native plants from seed. You will make your own low-cost mini greenhouse from recycled materials and plant your choice of seeds to take home. Make a pollinator home for native bees to take home. All materials provided.
