May Day Bird Walk with NJ Audubon’s Kristin Hock in Morven’s gardens!

May 1, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Celebrate May Day with Kristin Hock from New Jersey Audubon as we stroll around Morven’s gardens and explore ways to garden for wildlife. Kristin will take us all around Morven’s gardens – and even the parking lot and fringe areas – in search of birds and bird families. Kristin will identify the common birds and butterflies as they visit us and share interesting facts about them along our garden tour. She will discuss the lore and habits of New Jersey birds and also share how to register your own outdoor space as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. Learn all about offering food, water, cover, and places to raise young birds.

You’ll leave this garden tour with some newfound knowledge and motivation to invite more wildlife to visit your garden! Please dress and prepare for walking and for the weather: comfortable shoes, hat, water, etc. and bring your binoculars if you have them – it is not required, but helpful. Did you know that May Day has its roots in astronomy? It’s the halfway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice! After your bird walk, you may want to visit the museum for some scientific exploration in our latest exhibition Ma Bell: The Mother of Invention in New Jersey

COST: $5 Member of Morven, $10 General Admission
