A Silent Witness to Beauty is a unique collection of approximately 30 black-and-white bird photographs by Robert David Atkinson. This unique body of work captures a wide range of species—from elegant egrets and solitary herons to gentle doves and everyday pigeons—each portrayed with a sense of timeless stillness. Printed with deliberate texture by the photographer, the images bring a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of an earlier era in photographic art.

These photographs go beyond simple documentation—they invite the viewer to slow down and feel something more profound in each bird’s presence. A few are paired with short fictional stories, adding a touch of imagination that gently blurs the line between what is seen and what is felt. This show is not just about birds—it’s about seeing, feeling, and remembering the quiet beauty that often goes unnoticed.

A percentage of sales will benefit NJ Audubon.

The exhibit opens with a free reception on July 13th from 2pm to 4 p.m., where guests can meet the photographer and enjoy light refreshments. Admission to the gallery is free and open Wednesday through Sunday when the facility is open to visitors.
