Butterfly Gardening with Native Plants
March 30 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm EDT
Presented by Jane Hurwitz. Learn which native plants support butterflies! Whether you garden in sun or shade, there are many native plants that will attract and retain butterflies to your garden. Butterfly gardening is a gardening method used to protect the entire life cycle of butterflies. This talk explores the relationship that butterflies have with specific native plants and suggest easy steps to protect these relationships in order to enhance our local ecosystems, as well as your own garden. Jane is the editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine and former director of the Butterfly Garden and Habitat Program for the North American Butterfly Association. Her new book “Butterfly Gardening: The North American Butterfly Association Guide”, a gardener friendly source of information, will be available for purchase in our Nature Store, and Jane would be happy to sign your copy after her program.
