Citizen Scientists Unite!
May 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
How do we keep track of changes in bird populations locations of invasive plants, or blooming times of native trees and other flowering plants? Citizen Scientists! What is a Citizen Scientist? People like you, who learn to use apps to help keep track of our world. For example, each year, 15,000 people count birds at feeders for Project FeederWatch. With more than 1.5 million checklists submitted since 1987, FeederWatchers have contributed valuable data to scientists monitoring changes in bird populations. Associate Naturlaist Shari-Beth Nadell will introduce you to iNaturlaist, eBirds, and several more apps that help you to monitor the world.
