Fly Fishing Workshop – CANCELLED
October 3 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Ticket sales end on 10/2 at 5:00 PM. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. One person per ticket. Face masks and social distancing required.
Led by Angus Macaulay, Program Facilitator. This workshop is a practical foundation of fly fishing techniques. We will start with a group casting lesson on the lawn learning casting mechanics, the importance of accuracy, and safety. The group will then head down to the Passaic River to explore and search for river macroinvertebrates. Discussion will include how the fish and the macroinvertebrates fit together in the food web, how different flies represent different organisms, how to approach a stream for fishing, and where to look for fish. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own fly rod & reel, but loaners will be available for use during the program if needed. There will be no actual fishing.
