All NJ counties are considered medium to low COVID-19 community levels. New Jersey Audubon highly recommends that anyone who is not fully vaccinated, wants additional protection, or comes from a higher community level area should consider wearing a mask and social distancing, especially indoors. Please do not come to a program if you are sick, have a sick family member or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus
PRE-REGISTRATION MAY BE REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN PROGRAMS AND FIELD TRIPS

Nature Explorer Series

An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Thursday, repeating until October 29, 2020
Children’s Program using nature concepts with a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts & crafts! Geared towards kids ages 3 – 5. The Lorrimer Sanctuary invites families, friends, and nature lovers to join us for an exploration of our natural world. Enjoy watching your budding naturalist ‘go wild’ experiencing woodland adventures. Children use all their senses to safely explore and discover the wonders of nature here at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Children are introduced to nature concepts using a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts and crafts.
It is educational and fun! PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED.
October 1– Curiosity Hike: As we explore, children will be encouraged to make their own discoveries. The class will include looking for earthworms and bugs, and other creatures that live in our neck of the woods.
October 8– Hear That Sound? We will use our senses to ‘tune in’ to the noises we hear outside and create our own music by using objects in nature!
October 15– Hibernate or Migrate? Who sleeps the winter away and who flies south?
October 22– Mini-Mammals How many small mammals can you think of? Let’s discover together.
October 29– Halloween Parade- Come in costume and celebrate some Halloween fun with us!
COST: $8/child/session (NJA member), $10/child/session (NJA non-member)

- Programs run completely outdoors/rain or shine so please come prepared for wet/muddy conditions.
- *All children must be accompanied by an adult and pre-register.

NEW JERSEY AUDUBON’S PROGRAM GUIDELINES:
New Jersey Audubon field trips and programs adhere to CDC guidelines; leaders have the right to ask a participant to leave the program if someone is not adhering to these guidelines for the health and safety of all. Leaders and participants must wear face coverings throughout the program and maintain social distancing (at least 6’ of separation). Leaders may remove their face covering in order to be heard by the group while maintaining social distance. Please do not come to a program if you are sick or have a sick family member. There will be no sharing of equipment including binoculars or spotting scopes.
***If you have spent time in a state that appears on New Jersey’s Travel Advisories, we request that you do not attend the program and will provide a full refund.***
CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
