The Delaware Bayshore, Pine Barrens & Skylands Birding and Wildlife Trails

The Birding and Wildlife Trails projects are funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the benefit of New Jersey’s residents and in support of the growth of nature-based tourism. The New Jersey Department of Transportation provides balanced investments in New Jersey’s transportation infrastructure, yielding significant stimulus to the state’s economy. The New Jersey Department of Transportation is proud to support the Delaware Bayshore Birding and Wildlife Trails project, which encourages tourism based on the state’s natural resources. Ecotourists, such as birders and hikers, provide significant economic opportunities to the communities they visit, while respecting and preserving their natural beauty.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is committed to providing the residents of New Jersey with a high quality of life by preserving, sustaining, protecting, and enhancing the environment. The agency accomplishes its mission by working cooperatively in partnership with the public at large, the business community, the environmental community, and all levels of government.
Travel and tourism is New Jersey's second largest industry, generating $32 billion in economic activity and approximately 433,000 jobs in the State. The New Jersey Commerce, Economic Growth and Tourism Commission’s Office of Travel & Tourism spearheads efforts to support and promote New Jersey as a premier travel destination, working in cooperation with the Regional Tourism Councils and local Destination Marketing Organizations, non-profits and other state government agencies.
