Stop and ScanSITE DESCRIPTION:  This 14-acre multi-use park contains one of the last remnant woodlands in the Meadowlands District, in addition to recreation and picnic areas. Take a walk along the short, wood-chipped trail in April to enjoy the display of Trout lilies — a veritable sea of yellow is put forth by these delicate wildflowers. High in the tree canopy above the picnic area, look for Yellow-crowned Night-Heron nests. A rookery was discovered in 2004 and the birds may return to nest or roost. Warblers also take advantage of the tree canopy. Spring migration can bring Yellow-rumped, Black-and-white and Yellow Warblers to the area, along with Brown Thrasher, Red-winged Blackbird and Ruby-crowned Kinglet, among others.
