Trail Guides

Centered around the handsome town of Haddonfield, and the only New Jersey Birding and Wildlife Trail featuring a dinosaur (yes, a dinosaur!), the Cooper River Retreats trail is a whirlwind tour of pocket woodlands and friendly parks in a suburban jungle, rich in both cultural history and natural history. Butterflies greet you in the gardens at Barclay Farmstead, and a trail behind the historic farmhouse invites visitors to explore the streamside woods. You’ll forget you’re adjacent to a bustling metropolis as you hike the Cooper River Watchable Wildlife Walk at Maria Barnaby Greenwald Park. Will you be lucky enough to spot the beavers at Crows Woods, or a Green Heron at Newton Lake? Take in the views from Cooper River Park before cruising to your final stop on the Delaware Riverfront, and don’t forget to scan the train bridge for Peregrine Falcons!
