From the parking lot at Pakim Pond, turn Right on Coopers Road. After 0.5 miles, turn Right on Shinns Road and follow signs toward the forest office. After 2 miles the forest office will be on your Right. DIRECTIONS FROM NEAREST HIGHWAY: From the traffic circle (Four Mile Circle) at the intersection of Routes 70 and 72, continue East on Route 70 for approximately one mile. Look Right for a large brown sign at the main forest entrance. Turn Right and go about 0.6 miles to the office, on the Right. Map
| | While exploring the 36,000 acre Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, take time to visit the forest office for maps and information. There are over 25 miles of hiking trails, including a ten-mile stretch of the 50-mile long Batona Trail, and much more to see than we are able include here.
Don’t miss the Cedar Swamp Natural Area in June when the swamp azalea and sweet bay are in bloom.
