DIRECTIONS:  From the parking lot at Pakim Pond, turn Right on Coopers Road. After 0.5 miles, turn Right on Shinns Road and follow signs toward the forest office. After 2 miles the forest office will be on your Right.

DIRECTIONS FROM NEAREST HIGHWAY:  From the traffic circle (Four Mile Circle) at the intersection of Routes 70 and 72, continue East on Route 70 for approximately one mile. Look Right for a large brown sign at the main forest entrance. Turn Right and go about 0.6 miles to the office, on the Right.   Map

ACCESS AND PARKING:  Brendan T. Byrne State Forest office is normally staffed on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the period April 1st through mid-October, office hours are expanded to include weekends and most holidays.

SITE DESCRIPTION:  While exploring the 36,000 acre Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, take time to visit the forest office for maps and information. There are over 25 miles of hiking trails, including a ten-mile stretch of the 50-mile long Batona Trail, and much more to see than we are able include here.

DON'T MISS:  Don’t miss the Cedar Swamp Natural Area in June when the swamp azalea and sweet bay are in bloom.
