Hermit Thrushes were the new migration arrivals at CHC WMA this morning with several seen or heard on our walk. There are a lot of nervous sparrows there, mostly staying low in the grasses as accipiters threaten from above but we did manage to get good views of several Swamp and Song Sparrows… Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets were both present and calling and a late Osprey perched, eating a fish clutched in its claws. A small flock of Eastern Bluebirds flew overhead, and a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker called a few times but never made an appearance. And of course, there were Yellow-rumps!
