Birding Cape May Point – June 27, 2026

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Holly & Mark Lemieux

Temp: 72° F

Winds: 0 mph

Weather Conditions: mostly cloudy

Blue Grosbeaks and Indigo Buntings were out and singing on this first summer walk at the State Park this morning. A large flock of White Ibis flew over, and a small flock of Glossy Ibis was feeding in one of the Plover Ponds. A Green Heron fed busily on a mudflat, ignoring us as we admired its perfect plumage in the scope, and a Yellow-billed Cuckoo called loudly a few times but wouldn’t show itself.  A flock of Brown Pelicans flew low over the water and drifted eerily in and out of view in the mist.
