Birders’ Bucket List Bash!

The Birders’ Bucket List Bash is going to be so much FUN! We’ve been doing practice sessions with the presenters from around the world and we are astounded by the amazing variety of species (birds, mammals, herps!), and ecosystems that are going to be covered over the four days. The presenters themselves are extremely accomplished world travelers who readily convey their passion for each destination through the magic of Zoom. Imagine having been to Antarctica over 30 times; or to the Galapagos nearly 40 times. These are the folks you’re going to meet along the way. And they are all very excited to tell you everything you need to know while sharing all the very special bird species available in these faraway places. Heck, you can’t go. They can’t go (unless they live there, like Rajiv from Sri Lanka). So we may as well dream about it, right? Now your dreams will be crystal clear and technicolor.

The Cornell Lab is sponsoring the Birders’ Bucket List Bash and they have this to say about it, “The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is proud to sponsor this event in support of birding tourism. We believe in the power of birds to ignite discovery and inspire action through citizen science, research, and education. Get ready for your next birding trip with Cornell Lab resources: eBird, Merlin Bird ID, and Birds of the World.”

We are grateful for their sponsorship, and you will be too when you receive the special discount code for a subscription to Birds of the World (BOW) available to registrants only. Each session will open with a brief dive into one target species on BOW, and you may soon decide it’s an indispensable tool when prepping to travel abroad or satisfying your insatiable appetite for birds everywhere, including the USA. Each presenter is also offering a special promotion to registrants only for use all the way through 2022. You’ll want to book future travel well ahead because once it’s safe to explore, the backlog is going to quickly fill the pipeline.

The Birders’ Bucket List Bash offers 18 hours of content for $39 for members, or $49 for non-members. That’s a great deal by itself, and you’re sure to make it up with your discounted subscription to Birds of the World and a future promotional deal or two, or three, or… Trust us, your Bucket List will be a lot longer after this virtual adventure!

You may wonder why we’re hosting this event, which isn’t even promoting Cape May! It’s because we were unable to host our friends in the birding travel and destination industry at Cape May Convention Hall during our Fall Festival, so we wanted to provide a platform for them to reach their birding audience. To keep Cape May in the mix, we are offering a prize drawing for a two-night vacation in Cape May with lodging at the Beach Shack, a cool beachfront property in the Cape Resorts, Inc. lodging portfolio. The package includes a hosted birding tour, gift certificates for meals and experiences, signed books, and two pairs of Zeiss Terra compact binoculars, for a total value of over $2,000! Check it out here: https://njaudubon.tapkat.org/winacapemayvacation Bucket List Bash registrants and NJ Audubon/Cape May Bird Observatory members should keep an eye on their emails for a special promotion code to apply to ticket purchases for the drawing.
