The lower Raritan River can be excellent for a staggering amount of wintering gulls, including both Iceland and Glaucous. It's also good for Great Cormorants, raptors, and ducks. $20 members/$25 non-members Leaders: Patrick Belardo and Jason Denesevich

Spruce Run and Round Valley Reservoirs

Join us to seek out waterfowl and other wintering species, including sorting through the large flocks of gulls that come to roost on these two productive reservoirs.  Some of the highest counts of Lesser Black-backed Gulls in the U.S. come from these water bodies, which can also be good for white-winged gulls. $20 members/$25 non-members Leader: Alan Mart Meet at the "Boat-Launch" parking lot of Spruce Run State Park. From the entrance to the park off of Van Syckels Road in Clinton (1.5 miles west of the junction of Van Syckels and Rt 31), drive through the park’s entrance booths and make the 1st left. Proceed 1 mile to the boat launch parking area.
