Join us at Lorrimer Sanctuary on the fourth Sunday of every month for nature-based art projects! Cyanotype Printing: Connect with the environment in a fun and unique way with cyanotype printing! Make your own nature-based compositions and let the sun do the printing for you! The program will begin with a short walk on the trails at Lorrimer Sanctuary followed by a printing demonstration. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Supplies will be provided This is an all ages event, not a drop off program: children must have an accompanying adult if under 16 years old This event will be both indoors and outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather. Ticket sale for each class ends at 4:00 PM on the day before the class. COST: $18 members, $20 non-members Please note that Lorrimer's building facilities will be going under construction this winter. If this leads to cancelled programming, we will refund your order completely and let you know as soon as possible about these cancellations. We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this "grown-up-and-me" style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles! This program is best for kids 18 months to 3.5yrs. You will be able to relax inside as well as outside on our brand-new observation deck. Bonus points if you bring your own mug! Please register so we know how much to brew! Join Lorrimer Sanctuary after dark for a fascinating exploration into the world of MOTHS! There are far more species of moths than butterflies and they live fascinating lives. Learn about these important creatures and see what we catch with smelly bait and light traps. We’ll begin with a learning session before the capturing. Moth Night follows National Moth Week, held annually worldwide during the last full week of July to celebrate moth beauty, ecology and habitats. Bring a flashlight and plastic jar with a lid for catching. This is an all-ages program; children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets must be purchased by July 31st.
