Cape May Bird Observatory's Annual Spring Optics sale will be taking place at Cape May Convention Hall. We've been working with the manufacturers' representatives to to bring you the best deals! Kowa, Hawke Optics, Swarovski, Vortex & Zeiss are all on board and offering some amazing savings! You'll have the opportunity to talk to various reps and field test their products. CMBO's experienced staff will also be on hand to help. There are other bargains, some DEMO or LOANER product in the above brands, and some in several other brands too. Most of these are limited to stock on hand. Many of these are already on sale and available at their lowest and greatly reduced price. We will also have a variety of optics accessories, field guides and birding books, and the famous CMBO baseball hats! FREE ADMISSION and it’s OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, so invite your friends, fellow birders, hunters, boaters, and other nature enthusiasts to take advantage of these great savings! Want to trade-in an older optics: Trade-ins WILL NOT be accepted the days of the sale. If you have a trade-in and would like to speak to someone about it before the sale, please call our Store Manager Brian Moscatello at 609-400-3868. His office hours are Sun-Thur 9:30-4:30. You can also stop in to the store to see him. Parking information: There are metered spaces all around Convention Hall. The best thing to do is download the Park Mobile app before you arrive to Cape May. There is some free street parking available in Cape May, the further you get from Convention Hall. REGISTER HERE

Welcome to the Spring Ephemeral Walk at High Mountain Preserve! Join us for a leisurely hike through the trails at High Mountain to discover lovely spring ephemeral wildflowers that only bloom for a very short period in the spring each year. This event is a great opportunity to enjoy nature, learn about local flora, and meet fellow nature enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you there! COST: $8 members / $10 nonmembers CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. REGISTER HERE

Youth Birding Mentor Program
Youth Birding Mentor Program
Are you interested in honing your birding skills and teaching young people to love birding? This seven part certificate course will help you improve your ID skills, help you learn the skills needed to teach youth effectively, and provide training and opportunities for working with NJ Audubon as a Youth Birding Mentor. CLASS DATES: April 16th from 6-8pm: Mentor Meet and Greet and Program Introduction May 14th from 6-7:30pm: Birding by Shape and Color June 7th from 8-10am: Wood Warblers July 16th from 6-7:30pm: Teaching Youth Pt. 1 September 24th from 6-7:30pm: Teaching Youth Pt. 2 October 11th from 7:30-9am: Raptor ID November 22nd from 9-10:30am: Winter Waterfowl (@ DeKorte Park) All classes are in-person at Lorrimer Sanctuary unless stated otherwise. ***Optional classes and opportunities to shadow public walks throughout this timeline*** COST: FREE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: -Certified program graduates will be required to get a background check before working as NJ Audubon Youth Birding Mentors -This program is for adults and teens 16+. All participants require a ticket for this program. One ticket will cover the entire series of classes. Friday Morning Bird Walks
Friday Morning Bird Walks
Join us at Lorrimer Sanctuary at 8AM on Fridays for a gentle birding stroll around the grounds. Learn how to identify and listen for bird species of all kinds during this hour-long birding program. From May-Oct, we'll walk the trails at Lorrimer Sanctuary looking for birds of all kinds including beautiful migratory warbler species that will only stop in NJ for a short time on their way north. This program is open to all birders, from beginner to experienced! Great for adults or families. COST: Free for NJA members, $5 for non-members. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Dress for the weather.
