FOR CHILDREN 4 to 7 YEARS OLD Join us after school for this 1-hour Wednesday afternoon program! Each day will feature a nature topic, walk, craft, activity, and/or story! We welcome the next generation of naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for our after-school nature club! Designed to be a continuation from our Tiny Tots program, we will read books, explore outside, make nature-themed crafts, and learn about the environment in age-appropriate ways. Topics to be announced. This IS a drop-off program, but parents are invited to stay and have coffee or chat inside during the program! Homeschoolers welcome! Registration ends at 5 pm the day before each event! Use your imagination to design unique shapes and landscapes by combining elements of craft and nature. Feel free to bring your own materials, but other supplies will be provided. Led by Teacher Naturalist and Artist Toni Stober. We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this "grown-up-and-me" style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles! This program is best for kids 18 months to 3.5yrs. Lessons follow our statewide programmatic themes: October: Sustainability, November: Waterfowl. Bring in your bird feeders and we'll give them a thorough cleaning — just $5 per feeder. As a thank-you, you'll get 20% off your next bag of bird seed (one discount per person). Clean feeders mean healthier birds and better sightings all season long. Don't miss it! Why It Matters: Dirty feeders spread disease, grow toxic mold in damp seed, and attract pests. Learn how to make apple cider using an old-fashioned cider press and make your own apple stamps at this hour-long family program! Join Lorrimer Sanctuary staff for a fun family program all about apple cider! We'll learn about apple trees and where apples come from, use an old-fashioned cider press to turn our apples into juice (and taste test some delicious and fresh local cider), and make an apple stamp craft too! Cider and Spice and Everything Nice! Join us for a cozy fall event dedicated to the art of mulled cider. We'll walk through the essentials of pressing apples to make cider, building a spice blend, and simmering it all together while you sip, sample, and take notes along the way. By the end of class, you'll have a go-to recipe (and a warm mug) to bring home for the season. Come craft adorable pumpkin-themed fairy cottages with us and bring a little magic home! Step into the magic of autumn and craft your very own enchanted pumpkin fairy cottage! In this hands-on workshop, participants will transform a real pumpkin into a whimsical fairy house complete with tiny doors, windows, mossy roofs, and twinkling details fit for woodland fairies. Guided by our instructor, you'll learn simple techniques for carving your pumpkin base, then decorate using natural materials like moss, twigs, acorns, dried flowers, and mini pebbles, along with other craft supplies. Each cottage will be one-of-a-kind — a perfect centerpiece for your fall table or a magical addition to your garden. FOR CHILDREN 4 to 7 YEARS OLD Join us after school for this 1-hour Wednesday afternoon program! Each day will feature a nature topic, walk, craft, activity, and/or story! We welcome the next generation of naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for our after-school nature club! Designed to be a continuation from our Tiny Tots program, we will read books, explore outside, make nature-themed crafts, and learn about the environment in age-appropriate ways. Topics to be announced. This IS a drop-off program, but parents are invited to stay and have coffee or chat inside during the program! Homeschoolers welcome! Welcome to Tiny Tots Fall Series! Toddlers can be naturalists too! Perfect for littles 18 months to 3 years old, join us for story time and nature activities! We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this "grown-up-and-me" style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles! This program is best for kids 18 months to 3.5yrs.
