Join us for a fun-filled day of fishing basics! Whether you're a beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this in-person event is perfect for you. Our experienced instructors will cover everything from casting techniques to knot tying. You'll also learn about bait selection and fish identification. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow fishing enthusiasts and enjoy the great outdoors. So, grab your friends and family and get ready for a day of reeling in some unforgettable memories! In partnership with Franklin Lakes Healthy Living. COST: NJ Audubon Member: $15 Non-member: $15 Chaperone (non-participating adult): FREE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment, loaner rods, tackle, and bait will be available to share. This event is not a drop off program, all participants under 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. This program takes place entirely outdoors and will take place in light rain. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. FOR CHILDREN 4 to 7 YEARS OLD Join us after school for this 1-hour Wednesday afternoon program! Each day will feature a nature topic, walk, craft, activity, and/or story! We welcome the next generation of naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for our after-school nature club! Designed to be a continuation from our Tiny Tots program, we will read books, explore outside, make nature-themed crafts, and learn about the environment in age-appropriate ways. Topics to be announced. This IS a drop-off program, but parents are invited to stay and have coffee or chat inside during the program! Homeschoolers welcome! Registration ends at 5 pm the day before each event! Welcome to Tiny Tots Fall Series! Toddlers can be naturalists too! Perfect for littles 18 months to 3 years old, join us for story time and nature activities! We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this "grown-up-and-me" style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles! This program is best for kids 18 months to 3.5yrs. Lessons follow our statewide programmatic themes: October: Sustainability, November: Waterfowl. SCHEDULE: October 1st: Fallings Leaves, Growing Green (Compost and Mulch) October 8th: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! FOR CHILDREN 8-12 YEARS OLD Welcome to Junior Naturalists Afterschool Club! Designed to be a continuation from our younger student afterschool program, the Junior Naturalists Club is meant for kids ages 8-12. During this hour-long program, we will get hands-on discovering nature through outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, science experiments, and more. This is a drop-off program. Homeschoolers welcome! Registration ends at 5 pm the day before each event!
