NJ Audubon: Groundhog Day Walk at Hawk Rise
Led by Angus Macaulay, NJ Audubon Teacher Naturalist Will the groundhog see its shadow? Come find out on our morning walk at Hawk Rise Sanctuary where we will discuss how mammals survive and thrive in the winter cold. This program is appropriate for individuals of all ages. Let your senses guide you in a highly interactive, fun 90-minute program for all ages and abilities guided by Laura. Nearby nature has much to offer during the winter months. Learn how to nurture nature as nature nurtures you. Engage your senses. Express, create hands-on projects for take-away. Choose your expression through Aromatherapy (make a sachet to take home), rock painting, seed Mandala art, arrange nature in a jar, paint a tree trunk cutting and much more. Green thumbs and knowledge of gardening and plants are not required. There is something for everyone. All materials included. Feel free to bring your camera, tablet, binoculars.
