Maple Sugaring
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ, United StatesCome learn all about the process of making maple syrup through a hands-on demonstration. Tap a tree, collect sap, and taste test the syrup! Join a NJ Audubon naturalist for a fun look into the process behind making maple syrup! Learn how to identify a sugar maple tree, find out how maple sap (and eventually syrup) was discovered, collect sap, and practice tapping a tree yourself! COST: $10 members / $12 nonmembers IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Dress for the weather. This program is entirely outdoors. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Nature Explorers – Winter 2023
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ, United StatesLorrimer Sanctuary invites families, friends, and nature lovers to join us for an exploration of our natural world. Enjoy watching your budding naturalist ‘go wild’ experiencing woodland adventures. Children use all their senses to safely explore and discover the wonders of nature here at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Children are introduced to nature concepts using a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts and crafts. It is educational and fun! Best for families with children under 10. COST: $8 per child for members, $10 per child for nonmembers. NJ Audubon Binocular Basics at Hawk Rise Sanctuary

Join us at Hawk Rise Sanctuary for an introductory lesson on binocular use and function. Loaner binoculars will be provided for all. Constellations and Cocoa

Visit Lorrimer Sanctuary for this after-dark program all about the stars! We'll be looking up as we learn all about the winter constellations and their myths as we sip on hot cocoa during this family-friendly program. This event will take place entirely outdoors, please dress appropriately. NJ Audubon: Croaks, Trills, and Splashes
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesCome for an adventure to the world of amphibians and explore our vernal ponds. Come for an adventure to the world of amphibians! We’ll explore our vernal pond with nets and buckets and listen and look for the Wood Frogs that come to the ponds to lay their eggs once a year.
