Get your hands dirty and learn the art of winter sowing at our workshop! Join us for a hands-on winter sowing workshop at the beautiful Lorrimer Sanctuary in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Get ready to learn all about starting seeds in winter and kickstart your gardening journey! This program is best suited for teens and adults. COST: NJA Member $10, NJA Non-member $12 CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. We’ll start the workshop with an informational powerpoint of the growing conditions and helpful hints of our collection of native plant seeds. We have over 30 plant species, and every year we add new seeds! You’ll make mini greenhouses from repurposed materials and plant your choice of seeds. All materials provided. Residential landscapes are becoming increasingly important for the survival of native pollinators and other wildlife and can be home for both humans and wildlife. Join us for a fun Winter Tree ID Hike and learn to spot trees like a pro in the chilly outdoors! Join us for a fun and informal hike where you'll learn to identify trees even in the chilly winter months! This in-person adventure is perfect for nature lovers and curious minds alike. Bundle up, bring your keen eyes, and get ready to discover the hidden secrets of the forest this winter. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and boost your tree-ID skills.
